1993 Honda NSX Manual
The star studded history of the NSX needs no further explanation, with memories of Senna and later of Gran Turismo digital dominance firmly in the hearts and minds of all petrolheads.
Today, a correctly specified car in the right condition continues to offer a very special driving experience. This particular example is desirable first series ‘NA1’ car, finished in Formula Red coachwork with black roof and black interior. Delivered new to Japan and specified with 5-speed manual transmission rather than the buzz-kill automatic unit, this right hand drive example was imported to the UK in November 2003 and was subsequently owned by Le Mans 24-Hour Veteran and BRDC member Simon Phillips.
Owned by the current custodian since 2014, this NSX has benefited from the ideal combination of regular maintenance and use. As with most sports cars of this era, a lack of use can often lead to headaches. Cambelt, brake discs & pads were replaced in 2015 at 80,000 miles (service requirement every 70,000 miles or 7 years) and new front brake callipers have since been fitted alongside new Bilstein front dampers. Subtle BOSE door speakers and modern head unit now adorn the interior, which presents as excellently as the rest of the car.
Now showing just over 90,000 miles from new, this NSX is a truly usable modern classic with near-mythical dynamics and illustrious history – and a sports exhaust system, too. Sold with comprehensive history file, two keys and cherished ‘NSX’ registration, this is example is ready for a new owner to follow in the footsteps of its previous enthusiast owners.
