2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale S Tricolore
Tricolore. We probably needn’t write much more. But never the less, we will.
When Ducati launched the Panigale 1199 and 1199 S the motorcycling press were impressed. Very impressed. But Ducati, are not ones to shy away from a challenge. Even if it was to solve a problem, no one knew they had yet.
What Ducati engineers did, was take the “base” Panigale S, an already bananas machine, with its Ohlins-produced dampers and forged wheels and as the saying goes. Turned it up to 11. Frankly, the Tricolore is better because it goes to 11.
Externally, added the Tricolore Red, White and Green livery, they took all of their learnings from racing and fitted a race-spec ABS setup, Ducati Data Logger and Titanium Termigoni exhausts. Those exhausts meant that the power was bumped to 195bhp with a wet weight of 188kgs. That’s over 1000 bhp per tonne! The Superquadro engine then, is a masterpiece that will, rev until the cows come home.
This particular example is an extremely well-loved and cared for one, supplied new in 2012 into London it has been maintained regardless of cost and comes with a complete and extensive service record.

The Tricolore is a racier version of an already racy bike, but like anything, bikes in the last decade have evolved, they’re more capable, more approachable but in the process, they could be considered to have been made more sterile. They might have lost the lunacy of the Ducati, even down to the base bike’s design process.
Ducati opted to have a three-way competition to see who would win the right to design the new model, something that could have only happened in a Ducati board room meeting. We love it for its madness, its style and its immense power and you should love it for all of those reasons and more too.
As with all our vehicles, a full digital folder is available on request containing more images, walk-around videos, and scans of the service history. The bike can also be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.
