Hey everyone, I was browsing for lightweight solar solutions for my RV and came across this: https://www.sungoldsolar.com/sungold-flexible-solar-panel-pa-219/. It looks like a solid option since it’s flexible and not bulky like traditional panels. Has anyone used this model before? How does it hold up over time? I want something that won’t crack or degrade quickly, especially with temperature changes and being on the road a lot. Also, does it provide a stable charge even on cloudy days? I’d love to hear your thoughts before I commit.
I’ve actually worked with Sungold panels before, and the PA-219 is a great choice for RVs. It’s built with ETFE coating, which makes it more durable compared to cheaper PET-coated panels. The flexibility is great for curved surfaces, and since it’s lightweight, it won’t add much load to your roof. As for performance, it does well even in low-light conditions, thanks to its high-efficiency monocrystalline cells. Of course, no solar panel is perfect in cloudy weather, but this one still generates a decent charge. If you want a reliable, space-saving option, I’d definitely recommend it.
