The Targa name has been part of the 911 story since 1965, originally conceived as Porsche’s answer to growing safety concerns around open-top cars in the US. Rather than abandon the idea of open-air driving, Porsche engineered something different:  a fixed roll hoop, a removable roof, and a design that quickly became an icon in its own right.

Fast forward to today, and the modern Targa remains true to that brief. It’s neither full cabriolet nor conventional coupe, but something that brings both worlds together - blending usability, rigidity, and theatre in a way few others manage. The fully automated roof mechanism is a piece of engineering theatre, but it’s the silhouette, that unmistakable stainless-steel bar and wraparound glass,  that really defines it.

And in this case, it’s paired with something increasingly rare: A manual gearbox…
Increasingly rare, and arguably the sweet spot for those who still want a 911 to feel like a 911. The 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six delivers effortless pace, but it’s the interaction - the shift, the weighting, the involvement - that defines the experience. This is a car you drive with, not just in.

The spec is thoughtful and well judged. Highlights include:

Sports Exhaust System
BOSE Surround Sound
20/21” Carrera Classic wheels
Adaptive Sports Seats Plus
ParkAssist with Surround View
Heated steering wheel
Exclusive Design taillights
Porsche crests on headrests
Electric folding mirrors
Targa roll bar in satin black

It’s been configured with usability in mind too - not overdone, not under-specced, just the right blend of driver focus and comfort.

This example benefits from:

Full Porsche service history
Porsche-fitted immobiliser
Two keys and two immobiliser fobs
Gtechniq total surface protection package
Extended Porsche warranty

As you’d hope, it presents exactly as a modern Porsche should/ clean, sharp, and cared for.

The Targa itself occupies a unique place in the 911 lineage. Neither full coupe nor full cabriolet, it offers something more considered - open-air driving without the compromise, and arguably one of the most distinctive silhouettes Porsche produces today. The mechanism is a piece of theatre in its own right, but it’s the way the car feels on the road that really matters.

And in manual form, that feeling is increasingly hard to come by.

As with all our vehicles, a full digital folder is available on request containing more images, walk-around videos, and scans of the service history. The car can also be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.

"His practical and no nonsense approach is refreshing to deal with and his passion and knowledge is extensive, along with his integrity in business. I made a decision to only filter my ‘jungle’ finds through the Duke of London, after we had transacted the first two sales."
