1964.5 Ford Mustang V8 Convertible 260 - Concours winner

We always try to avoid the common car dealer hyperbole and superlatives, but this is without question the highest quality and most period correct restoration of a Mustang convertible we have seen. We also avoid using the word ‘concours’, as this is nowadays often used to describe any shiny car, but this example is a genuine concours winning example.

The car has been professionally restored to exacting original specifications and has recently been imported by the UK’s leading Mustang collector. The car was purchased from the previous owner of 38 years in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Ford started Mustang production with 1965 models but ‘early’ examples with some specific early features are known in the hobby as 1964.5 Mustangs, such as this car. As such this car has a number of lesser seen features including the 260 V8 and remote reservoir power steering pump, and was also ordered with the C4 automatic gearbox, power brakes and air conditioning. The car also retains the factory radio.

As one would expect of a car of this calibre, the details and finish are exceptional. The car boasts crisp door shuts, deep paint, immaculate chrome work and an as-new interior. Even the factory stickers have been reproduced to original specifications.

We encourage any interested parties to come and see this car for themselves. The engine bay, underside and overall condition of the car are fantastic, and we don’t expect this example to hang around for long.
