1991 Range Rover Classic Vogue SE 3.9 V8 Auto

1991 Range Rover Classic Vogue SE 3.9 V8 Auto

Unveiled at the 1988 Geneva Motor Show, the Range Rover Vogue SE was pitched as the new flagship variant. Possessing all the aforementioned luxuries found on the North American spec cars, its standard accoutrements also extended to air conditioning and automatic transmission. The choice of exterior colours was initially limited to just two metallic colours - Caspian Blue and Cypress Green - which also extended to the three-spoke alloy wheel design. Adding a further touch of distinction was a single pinstripe along the body's sides.

With a retail price of £27,349.78, the Vogue SE was over 25% more expensive than the existing Vogue. However, any doubts about its sales success were soon dispelled as it seemed as if Range Rover buyers were keen to pay to enjoy even more opulence - so much so that, by the end of 1988, Range Rover production had exceeded 24,000 examples, representing a near 16% increase on 1987's impressive figure. By the end of 1989 production had climbed by a further 19% over the previous year to 28,507. The onwards and upwards approach and withdrawal of certain lower-spec variants in some markets was working.

This 1991 Range Rover Classic Vogue SE is a great example of the iconic British 4x4. Under the bonnet sits the 3.9-litre Rover V8, sending 182bhp to all four wheels via a four-speed ZF automatic transmission. The car has had three owners from new and the odometer reads 100,900 miles.

This Range Rover Classic is finished in the alluring combination of Cypress Green metallic with brown leather seats featuring handsome burr wood dashboard and door card inlays.
Factory equipment includes air conditioning, central locking, a heated rear screen, electric windows, electrically adjustable door mirrors, electric memory seats, electric glass sliding sunroof and a dash-mounted clock. This example also benefits from the fitment of an aftermarket Kenwood sound system with Bluetooth connectivity.

The Cypress Green metallic paintwork is in very good condition, reflective of the care this car has received throughout its life. Inside, the cabin presents well. The leather seats are in good order. The headlining has been replaced and is in very good order.

This SE had four Matching Michelin Cross Climate Tyres fitted last year as well as a new stainless steel exhaust system (including free flow exhaust manifolds). Accompanying the car is a massive history folder with dozens of old MOTs, invoices etc. This Vogue drives without fault, The pictures speak for themselves cosmetically. The most recent owner is well known to us and has always ensured that she's kept in top fettle.

This Range Rover Classic Vogue SE is a fine example of the legendary 4x4, presented in impressive condition. This handsome example of the modern classic would make a fine mode of ‘go anywhere’ transport, as well as a wonderful addition to any collection.
