2016 McLaren 650S Spider
Rocket Ship anyone?
A properly sorted, smartly specified McLaren 650S Spyder, presented here in a configuration that blends visual drama with real usability.
Delivered in Carbon Black, this example now wears a full colour-changing PPF by Auto Protek, finished in a deep, metallic dark Green that looks far closer to paint than wrap. Paired with Silver Super-Lightweight wheels and Yellow calipers, it’s a combination that feels both contemporary and quietly aggressive - exactly as a 650S should.
With just over 12,500 miles covered, this is low mileage car has been very well maintained, irrespective of mileage. The service history backs that up, with care from both McLaren main dealers and V Engineering - widely regarded as one of the go-to specialists for these cars.
Importantly, this isn’t a car that’s been left to sit. Around £4,000 has been spent with V Engineering following its last purchase, including the installation of their refillable suspension accumulators—one of the key upgrades that transforms how these cars ride and behave. It’s also been subtly lowered and spaced for stance, while retaining full functionality of the nose lift system, so still entirely usable in the real world.
Inside, it’s exactly what you’d hope for: a Carbon Black Alcantara cabin with Cadmium Yellow contrast stitching, carbon fibre interior upgrades, and the Meridian surround sound system. Apple CarPlay has been neatly integrated via Iris, bringing the usability right up to modern expectations without compromising the factory feel.
Spec-wise, it ticks the right boxes. You’ve got the Sport Pack (sports exhaust, telemetry, lightweight wheels), Luxury Pack (heated electric memory seats, soft close doors, electric steering column), and the all-important nose lift, reversing camera and parking sensors from the Security Pack. Add to that ceramic brakes, Stealth Pack detailing, and the full suite of McLaren’s active systems, PCC suspension, airbrake, launch control, and it’s a complete car.
The 650S sits in a sweet spot in the McLaren lineage: fast enough to still feel genuinely serious, but analogue enough to engage in a way later cars don’t always manage. With its ProActive Chassis Control and hydraulic suspension setup, it remains one of the best-riding and most capable road cars of its era.
This particular example stands out for being both thoughtfully improved and carefully maintained, exactly the sort of car you want if you’re stepping into McLaren ownership without compromise.
A sharp, well-resolved 650S Spyder that’s ready to be driven properly.
As with all our vehicles, a full digital folder is available on request containing more images, walk-around videos, and scans of the service history. The car can also be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.
